  • Trachycephalus: gr. τραχυς trakhus „chropowaty, szorstki”[8]; -κεφαλος -kephalos „-głowy”, od κεφαλη kephalē „głowa”[9]. Typ nomenklatoryczny: Amblyrhynchus subcristatus Gray, 1831.
