Zasięg występowania

Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Afryce (Madagaskar)^[3].

Mimophis: gr. μιμος mimos „naśladowca, imitator”^[4]; οφις ophis, οφεως opheōs „wąż”^[5].
