Obejmuje 52 gatunki występujące w Ameryce Południowej i Środkowej w takich krajach jak: Belize, Boliwia, Brazylia, Kolumbia, Kostaryka, Ekwador, Salwador, Gwatemala, Gujana, Honduras, Meksyk, Nikaragua, Panama, Peru, Surinam, Wenezuela^[4].

Rodzaj sklasyfikowany do podplemienia Pleurothallidinae w plemieniu Epidendreae, podrodzina epidendronowe (Epidendroideae), rodzina storczykowate (Orchidaceae), rząd szparagowce (Asparagales) w obrębie roślin jednoliściennych^[4]^[6]^[7].
