Protochondracanthus alatus – gatunek widłonoga z rodziny Chondracanthidae^[1].

Systematyka: Gatunek ten opisał w 1865 roku austriacki zoolog Camill Heller, nadając mu nazwę Chondracanthus alatus^[2]. Autor podał, że okaz typowy pozyskano z ryby Hippoglossus Nolako złowionej w Singapurze^[2]^[a].

Występowanie: Gatunek ten występuje w północnym Oceanie Indyjskim i zachodniej części Oceanu Spokojnego – stwierdzano go m.in. u wybrzeży Singapuru, Indii, Sri Lanki, Pakistanu, Tajwanu, a także w Zatoce Perskiej^[3].

Tryb życia: Jest to pasożyt występujący na skrzelach ryb, głównie Psettodes erumei z rzędu flądrokształtnych^[3]^[4], ale także Epinephelus chlorostigma z rzędu okoniokształtnych^[4].

Uwagi

↑ Nazwa Hippoglossus Nolako nie występuje we współczesnych bazach ryb FishBase i Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes ani jako gatunek, ani jako synonim.
