Zasięg występowania
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w skrajnie południowej półwyspowej Tajlandii, Malezji, na Borneo i Sumatrze[3].

Etymologia
Rentapia: Libau Rentap (zm. 1870), bojownik o wolność i bohater narodowy Malezji[2].
