Suchlin^[5] (Rhodanthe Lindl.) – rodzaj roślin z rodziny astrowatych (Asteraceae). Obejmuje 46 gatunków, wszystkie będące endemitami Australii^[3], w większości (36 gatunków) rosnącymi w zachodniej części tego kontynentu^[6]. Rośliny siedlisk półpustynnych^[5].

Niektóre gatunki uprawiane są jako rośliny ozdobne, najczęściej suchlin Manglesa R. manglesii^[6]. Gatunek jako zdziczały z upraw rośnie na różnych obszarach w strefie międzyzwrotnikowej (Sumatra, Indie, Kolumbia), ale też w strefie umiarkowanej (Wielka Brytania i Norwegia)^[3]. Rośliny te uprawiane są dla barwnych i trwałych po przekwitnięciu kwiatostanów, wykorzystywanych do suchych kompozycji^[5].

Morfologia

Pokrój: Rośliny zielne (w większości roczne, tylko jeden gatunek to bylina)^[7].
Liście: Skrętoległe, całobrzegie, kutnerowato owłosione z obu stron^[7], żywozielone do szarozielonych^[5].
Kwiaty: Zebrane w koszyczki wyrastające pojedynczo lub skupione po kilka na szczycie pędu. Listki okrywy papierzaste i barwne. Dno kwiatostanowe wypukłe, bez łuszczynek. Kwiaty w koszyczku niezróżnicowane, obupłciowe. Korony kwiatów barwy żółtej^[7].
Owoce: Niełupki podługowate, ze spłaszczonymi osiami pierzastego puchu kielichowego tworzącymi pierścień na ich szczycie^[7].

Jeden z rodzajów plemienia Gnaphalieae z podrodziny Asteroideae w obrębie rodziny astrowatych (Asteraceae) z rzędu astrowców (Asterales) należącego do dwuliściennych właściwych^[8]^[2]. W niektórych ujęciach bywał lub bywa łączony z Helipterum DC.^[8]^[5]
