Tytuł odnosi się do patrzenia na świat z boku (od cząstki lateral). Jest to jedyna droga, dzięki której artysta może rozwijać się, nie tylko jako artysta ale również jako człowiek. W łacinie medycznej pojęcie "lateralis, lateralus" i dalsza odmiana tego zwrotu odnosi się do części bocznej, przekroju bocznego, struktury położonej z boku/bocznie.
