Zasięg występowania
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące na kontynencie australijskim[3].
Morfologia
Długość ciała 28–31 cm; masa ciała 103–160 g[4].

Etymologia
Petrophassa: gr. πετρα petra „skała”; φασσα phassa „gołąb”[5].
