Dubai Women’s Sevens 2013 – druga edycja wchodzącego w skład IRB Women’s Sevens World Series turnieju Dubai Women’s Sevens przeznaczonego dla żeńskich reprezentacji narodowych w rugby 7. Odbyła się wraz z turniejem męskim w dniach 28–29 listopada 2013 roku na The Sevens w Dubaju będąc pierwszym turniejem sezonu 2013/2014.

Informacje ogólne

Rozegrane na The Sevens zawody były pierwszym turniejem sezonu 2013/2014 IRB Women’s Sevens World Series. Wzięło w nich udział dwanaście reprezentacji – ośmiu stałych uczestników cyklu oraz cztery zespoły, które zostały zaproszone na podstawie osiągniętych wyników w regionalnych turniejach. Podział na grupy oraz rozkład gier zostały opublikowane przez IRB pod koniec października 2013 roku[1][2][3]. Drużyny rywalizowały w pierwszym dniu systemem kołowym podzielone na trzy czterozespołowe grupy, po czym w drugim dniu osiem najlepszych awansowało do ćwierćfinałów, a pozostałe cztery zmierzyły się w walce o Bowl[4][5].

Przedturniejowe charakterystyki zespołów opublikowano 29 października 2013 roku[6][7][8][9][10][11], natomiast składy zespołów na dzień przed rozpoczęciem turnieju[12][13][14][15].

Świadectwem wyrównującego się poziomu żeńskich rozgrywek były cztery remisy w pierwszym dniu zawodów[16][17], w finale zaś Australijki pokonały reprezentantki Nowej Zelandii[18][19]. W klasyfikacji przyłożeń z dziesięcioma zwyciężyła Nowozelandka Kayla McAlister, która również wraz z Fidżijką Asinate Ufia Savu była najlepiej punktującą zawodniczką turnieju[20].

Podobnie jak pozostałe zawody cyklu turniej był transmitowany w Internecie[21].
